ACH Specialist

Reports to: Vice President Accounting/CFO

Location: The Tennessee Credit Union Main Office Nashville, TN

AAP certified or is currently in the process of obtaining certification.

 

Position Summary

Responsible for administration of credit union ACH program.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Duties/Responsibilities

The following duties are normal for this position but should not be interpreted as all-inclusive.  Other duties may be required and assigned.

  1. Perform daily administrative duties of the credit union ACH program.
  2. Maintain the return file and authorize IS to send the file to APCU’s ACH processor.
  3. Assist in the annual ACH audit and resolve any findings.
  4. Stay abreast of industry changes and make recommendations to management.
  5. Research and process Notice of Reclamation from the federal government.
  6. Process documents for ACH origination via APCU’s ACH processor
  7. Comply with Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering and OFAC regulations as they relate to ACH administration.
  8. Process payroll deduction requests and DBOs
  9. Balance DS and Volcorp GL’s daily

Required Skills/Abilities

  1. Knowledge of accounting principles, accuracy in calculations, above-average math skills.
  2. Understanding of credit union policy and procedure and regulatory compliance with special emphasis on ACH processing.
  3. Possess analytical and problem-solving ability, attention to minute detail.
  4. Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
  5. Able to attend continuing education courses for expanded job knowledge.
  6. Ability to work in a non-smoking environment.
  7. Proficiency in computer work, specifically spreadsheets.

Education and Experience

  1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
  2. Some college preferred.
  3. 2 years’ experience in bank or credit union operations required.
  4. Ability to achieve Advanced ACH Professional certification.

Physical Requirements

  1. Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  2. Ability to use a computer for long periods of time.
